Daily Devotional: Taking the Kingdom by Force
Scripture:
And from the days of John the Baptist until now, the kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force.” — Matthew 11:12 (NKJV)
Devotional:
Jesus spoke these words to emphasize the intensity and determination required to advance God’s kingdom. The phrase “suffers violence” means that the kingdom of heaven is forcefully advancing, and “the violent take it by force” refers to those who passionately and persistently pursue God’s will.
This is not about physical violence but about spiritual boldness. The enemy works tirelessly to hinder God’s plans, but as believers, we are called to fight—not with weapons of the flesh, but with prayer, fasting, faith, and unwavering trust in God. We must press in, resisting fear, doubt, and complacency.
When we take the kingdom by force, we stand firm in God’s promises, refusing to be moved by circumstances. We pursue righteousness, push past obstacles, and walk in the authority Christ has given us. Victory belongs to those who refuse to give up!

Prayer:
Father, I thank You for the privilege of being part of Your kingdom. Strengthen me to press in with faith, prayer, and boldness. I refuse to be passive in my spiritual walk—help me to take hold of Your promises and walk in the authority You have given me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
