Then I proclaimed a fast there, at the river Ahava, that we might humble ourselves before our God, to seek from him a safe journey for ourselves, our children, and all our goods. For I was ashamed to ask the king for a band of soldiers and horsemen to protect us against the enemy on our way, since we had told the king, “The hand of our God is for good on all who seek him, and the power of his wrath is against all who forsake him.” So we fasted and implored our God for this, and he listened to our entreaty.
Ezra knows that they need God's guidance and His provision. So, as their leader he calls for a fast. 21 There, by the Ahava Canal, I proclaimed a fast, so that we might humble ourselves before our God and ask him for a safe journey for us and our children, with all our possessions.
God put on my heart to start this fasting team and that each of us would bring to the table unique gifts and that we would be stretched!!
Man have we been stretched!
I want you to look at the diversity we each faced or are still facing!
Gods protection is what we are to seek and fasting and prayer unlocks that very thing!
Just like an umbrella is easily opened to protect from rain ???
Look at the action needed to use the umbrella ☔️
You see rain (trials) you grab the umbrella (bible) you use your hands to pop it open (faith in action) and you stand under its protection (how fasting works)
It’s that attainable that real!!
So yes the rain comes and you still get wet but walking in FAITH is an action verb!
Let together remember that we still have HIM and HE will protect us no matter how hard it gets !!
